The Symposium is offered in three different formats:
- In-Person 1-day seminar: offered in York, Friday, October 17. Cost: $295
- Online livestreaming 1-day webinar: Streamed from the York in-person seminar location, Friday, October 17. Attendees have to be continuously present during the webinar to earn CE credits. Cost: $249
- Self-Study Package: For those who do not need to earn continuing education credits but wish to study the program content, we offer a self-study package. Cost: $219

What is included in registration?
Your registration includes access links to join the webinar, the 2025 Agriculture Tax Issues Book and digital access for webinar recordings and slides until October 2026.
Access links will be emailed to the email address used in the registration one week prior to the event. The webinar will be facilitated using the Zoom platform. A high-speed, stable internet connection is essential for the best learning experience
Book Deliveries
Paper copy of the 2025 Agriculture Tax Issues Book will be mailed to the physical address provided during registration. Books will be mailed via USPS. Please make sure you’ve provided the best address for books to be delivered to you via this carrier, in your registration. If you need to update your address, there is a “Click here” to modify your registration link in the registration confirmation email you received from Cvent. Otherwise, you can contact us at taxinstitute@unl.edu and we can update it on your behalf. Books will begin shipping around the end of September.

Virtual Attendance
Online attendance will be taken periodically starting at 8:30 a.m. excluding breaks. Please make sure that you respond to the on-screen attendance poll promptly to earn your certificate of attendance and applicable CE credits.
Group viewing is allowed. Each group is required to designate an onsite proctor, which can be an attendee. The proctor has the responsibility of ensuring all individuals at the site are paying attention to the program and are not engaging in activities unrelated to the livestreaming webinar. In addition, the proctor has to submit the appropriate group viewing attendance form that can be downloaded below. Each group member is required to register to the webinar.
Self-Study Package
If you have missed this year's symposium, you can register for the self-study package. The package includes a paper copy of program book (2024 Agriculture Tax Issues Book published by LGUTEF), presentation videos and slides. You will have access to digital content until October 2025 and your books will be mailed to your address. The fee for the self-study package is $219.
Please note that participating in the self-study program does not earn continuing education credits.

Tina Barrett, EA
Tina Barrett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis in Farm and Ranch Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. After graduation, she began her career with Nebraska Farm Business, Inc. (NFBI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the profitability of Nebraska’s farm and ranch operations through sound financial management.
In 2003, she became the Executive Director of NFBI, where she leads a team of consultants serving over 600 agricultural producers across the state. Tina specializes in agricultural taxation, financial analysis, and business consulting. Her focus is on helping farm and ranch families make informed decisions through better record keeping, proactive tax planning, and long-term cash flow and profitability strategies. With decades of experience, she brings expertise in tax law as it applies to agriculture, including entity structuring and succession planning.
In addition to her work at NFBI, Tina has served as an adjunct instructor in the Agricultural Economics Department at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln since 2005. She teaches a course on farm income taxation, financial analysis, and accounting, helping the next generation of ag professionals understand the unique challenges and opportunities within agricultural finance.
Together with her husband, Anthony, Tina manages the day-to-day operations of NFBI and works one-on-one with producers throughout Nebraska. They live in Lincoln, Nebraska, and have four daughters, ages 18 to 26, and one granddaughter born in July 2024.

Payments, Refunds and Cancellation Policies
Can I get a refund if it storms on the day of a seminar?
If we hold the seminar, no refund will be provided regardless of the weather. Historically, seminars are rarely canceled due to inclement weather. If weather occurs, you will be informed by email before 6 a.m. of the day(s).
How will I know if my credit card payment was accepted?
You will receive a confirmation email at the end of registration. Please print this message if you need a receipt for your records. The charge on your credit card billing statement appears as “cvent*2023 Agriculture Taxation and Management Symposium”.

Attendees paying by check need to allow 7-10 business days for checks to be received. Checks must be received at least 15 days prior to the event.
Returned Check Fee
A fee of $25.00 will be assessed on all returned checks.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation Policy for In-Person Seminar:If you cancel your registration by October 10th 2023, you will be refunded what you paid less $30 cancellation fee. Any cancellations after this date will result in a 0% refund. If you cannot attend the in-person seminar or livestreaming session and would like to change to a different format, please contact us at taxinstitute.unl.edu.
Cancellation Policy for Livestreaming Sessions: If you cancel your registration by October 1st 2023, you will be refunded what you paid less $30 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for any registrations cancelled after this date and you will still receive the Ag Tax Issues book and access to the self-study package.
Cancellation Policy for Self-Study: No refunds will be issued for self-study registrations.
For any format, you are allowed to send a substitute if you cannot attend the program. Please contact us at taxinstitute@unl.edu if you need to send a substitute in your place.
Continuing Education Hours
When will I receive my Certificate of Attendance for Continuing Education Hours purposes?
Every effort will be made to issue Certificates of Attendance in a timely manner. In most cases, certificates are emailed within one week of the completion of the in-person seminar or livestreaming session you’ve attended. We will email certificates to the email address you provided during registration. Certificates have been known to go into the recipients Junk Box, so please check there as well.
If we receive a rejection from your Professional Licensing Organization that you do not exist, we will notify you by email.
Other Questions
Are walk-in registrations available?
As long as there are no COVID restrictions in place limiting capacity at venues, we will once again allow walk-in registrations.
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code. Meeting room temperatures may vary throughout the day, therefore we recommend dress in layers for your comfort.
I need to be able to take calls while I'm at the seminar. Is there a problem if I bring a cell phone or pager?
All electronic devices must be silenced. Participants who need to provide a method for being contacted in an emergency may set their device on vibrate and take the call outside of the room.
Are my personal belongings safe in the meeting room during lunch, breaks and overnight?
The venue and the Tax Institute are not responsible for items left unattended.
Is recording allowed?
Recording of the speakers presenting is not allowed at the Agriculture Taxation and Management Symposium.
Will you send out an email reminder?
You will receive an email reminder with all pertinent information to the session you’re attending one week before the event. The email will be sent to the email address you provided when you registered for the Ag Symposium. This email will include things such as the links to view the Livestreaming Webinar (if that is the session you registered for), venue information, time/location information…etc. and anything else you may need to know before participating in the Ag Symposium.
