Honors and Awards
- Tammy Beck, associate professor of management, received a university-wide teaching award from the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor of the university. Read the Nebraska Today story.
- Brandon Fogel, Ph.D. candidate in management, received two awards from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln: the Graduate Student Excellence in Mentoring Award and the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award. Read the Nebraska Today story.
- Landen Fogle, junior finance and computer science major from Omaha, was named a Student of the Month by the Nebraska Business Student Advisory Board.
- Shelby Lagueux, support associate for IT Services in the College of Business, received a Dean's Coin for going above and beyond for the College of Business for her leadership of the CoB technical solutions team during a time of transition. - Brett Neely, assistant professor of management, and his research team received an award from the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Foundation to support research on job search assistance for formerly incarcerated individuals. The team was recognized at the annual SIOP meeting in Denver.
- Ashley Nierman, senior supply chain management major from Harvard, Nebraska, was named a Student of the Month by the Nebraska Business Student Advisory Board.
- Elli Richardson, '24 accounting alum and recruitment assistant for the Enrollment Management team, received a Dean's Coin for excellence in recruitment and engagement efforts for the accounting community. Read the Facebook post.
- Christian Thomas, senior finance major from Omaha, Nebraska, was recognized as Outstanding Student Organization Officer at the university's annual Student Impact Awards for his role with Wall Street Scholars of Nebraska. Read about the awards in the UNL story.
Research and Publications
- The 33rd annual Mittelstaedt & Gentry Doctoral Symposium welcomed marketing Ph.D. students and faculty from 18 states for collaborative research discussions. Revanth Raghupatruni presented “DEI Events and Firm Value” as Nebraska’s featured presenter.
- Lance Buscher, junior business administration major from Omaha, presented a research poster titled LifelineLinks: Nurturing Connections, Breaking Loneliness at the university’s Student Research Days Slam. Read more about the event.
- S. Sajeesh, Nathan J Gold Distinguished Professor of Marketing and associate professor of marketing, was appointed associate editor at the Journal of Retailing.
Notable Involvement
- Forty-seven became new student strengths coaches with the Clifton Strengths Institute. These students will mentor more than 1,000 new College of Business students next year. Read the story about the new coaches.
- Twelve College of Business students traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, over spring break for a hands-on leadership and strengths coaching experience called the Advanced Coaching Abroad Program. Read the story about their experience.
- Four business students earned prestigious Gilman Scholarships to study abroad: Madalynn Janousek, economics major from Papillion, Nebraska, United Kingdom; Lenda Khalaf, international business and Spanish major from Lincoln, Bilbao, Spain; Yasmin Ramirez, finance and international business major from Omaha, Australia and New Zealand; and Yamen Seanwan, business administration major from Lincoln, Spain), Read the Nebraska Today story about the scholarship.

Competitions
- Sixty-four teams competed for nearly $85,000 in the 38th annual New Venture Competition hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship. The two-day business plan tournament featured undergraduate and graduate students from all 10 of the university’s colleges and 38 majors. - Thirty-four students competed in the Center for Sales Excellence's annual Team Role-Play Competition, testing their communication, persuasion skills for $5,000 in scholarships. Read about the competition.
- Meghan Fries, junior finance major from Overland Park, Kansas, placed third in the individual speed-selling competition at the King's Hawaiian Sales Competition hosted by the University of Kansas.

- Radhika Damle, junior actuarial science and data science major from Rochester, Minnesota, is part of the team in the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management who are helping national fashion retailer Buckle advance toward offering its guests a tailor-made online fashion stylist experience.
