NRI Site Visit, May 2012

Nanoelectronics Research Initiative Site Visit

University of Nebraska scientists hosted a team of industry researchers from the Nanoelectronics Research Initiative (NRI) on May 29, 2012 as part of the joint NRI/NSF Supplement to the Nebraska MRSEC. The visiting NRI team was Luigi Colombo (Texas Instruments), Steve Kramer (Intel), and Zoran Krivokapic (AMD). Charles Kuo (Intel) attended via web conference.

Kirill Belashchenko presented an overview of the Nebraska MRSEC supplementary project. Nebraska researchers then presented results from several active research projects. The goal of the Nebraska MRSEC supplement is to understand the physics of boundary magnetization of magnetoelectric antiferromagnets by focusing on a range of complex magnetoelectric transition-metal oxides. The visit provided a forum for stimulating discussions about how Nebraska research can and will help meet the goals of the NRI.
