Mission
The Living Digital Systems Lab develops multi-disciplinary research that brings together natural science and computer engineering to create computational and simulation models of futuristic computing and communication devices. Our motivation behind this vision is develop (i) energy-efficient computing and communication systems of the future by utilizing biological components, (ii) harnessing natural functions from biological systems in order to gain new insights to create intelligent bio-inspired systems, and (iii) develop novel applications from bio-hybrid living systems. We believe that this can lead to transformative silicon technologies working side-by-side with biological systems that can tackle global challenges.
