Recent precipitation in Nebraska

These maps show the accumulated precipitation in Nebraska in the past 24, 48, and 72 hours at the spatial resolution of 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). Additionally, there are maps showing seasonal and year-to-date precipitation information for the region. You can click the individual maps to enlarge them for better viewing and more site-specific precipitation amounts. In addition to the observations of precipitation in recent days there are monthly total precipitation along with some statistical status of precipitation of the season. 

To determine the amount of precipitation for any particular time/period at any specific farm location we first locate the farm site on the map. Using the map below as an example, a farm located in Central City, Nebraska is marked by the purple dot northeast of Grand Island. In this example of September total (monthly) precipitation we can read its amount using the scale in the lower left corner of the map. In this case, the medium green color indicates the precipitation amount is between 0.5 to 1.0 in.
