Dawson County 4-H Enrollment is now OPEN!

  • 4-H is open to ALL YOUTH, of ALL ABILITIES ages 5 to 18. The Dawson County deadline to enroll in 4-H is June 15 2025. 
  • The enrollment process is done online and Youth and Volunteers need to enroll each year. If you have any questions, please call the Dawson County Extension Office, 308-324-5501.
  • 4-H Youth and Volunteer Online Enrollment - Deadline: June 15, 2025 
    Enrollment fee of $10.00 per 4-H'er.

    Volunteers: Step-by-Step Instructions (PDF) - Update: For the 2024-25 enrollment year, Dawson County is re-screening all volunteers.  You will be directed to a new Volunteer Screening Site, Sterling Volunteers. This is a new site for all of Nebraska. The cost is $16.00.

Dawson County Meats

Dawson County Meats

The 4-H Meats program is open to all 4-H members regardless of project carried.  Under the capable leadership of Curt Rickertsen, the tradition of outstanding meats teams continues.  Dawson County has built a legacy of winning teams through the years. 

* 2017 State Champion Team and the team members captured the top 4 individual placings

* 2018 Champion & Reserve Team and they were 4th at the National Contest

* 2019 a repeat with both Champion & Reserve Teams

* 2021 State Champion - 5 placings in the top 7 at state and placed 5th at the National Contest

* 2022 Dawson County had 4 individuals place in top 5

* 2023 Dawson County was State Champion and placed 7th at the National Contest

* 2024 Dawson County was ....

Discover where all those good cuts of meat you eat come from, how they are cooked and their nutritional value.  Become a wise consumer and learn a skill you can use the rest of your life.

The 2025 Meats Program will begin January  and will culminate with the State Contest held at PASE (Premier Animal Science Event) in Lincoln held the end of June.
