Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the tour only for new faculty?
A: We give priority to faculty who have been at IANR for under three years and who have never previously attended.

Q: How will transportation work?
A: We will be chartering a tour bus. We will be departing from, and returning to, East Campus in Lincoln. You must have a UNL parking permit to park on campus.

Q: What is appropriate attire?
A: Dress casually. Some of the tour stops will involve walking outdoors, so be prepared for Nebraska weather. You may want to bring a light jacket, hat, and umbrella.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: The IANR Roads Scholar Tour is hosted and sponsored by the IANR Vice Chancellor's office. All expenses will be paid for, including transportation, hotel and meals. Any additional expenses (extra food, activities outside of the tour schedule, incidental expenses) will be paid by the participants.

Q: Can you accommodate special dietary requests?
A: Yes. We always do our best, working with local caterers and food service providers, to accommodate special requests.

Q: Are you on social media?
A: We are indeed! Follow and participate in the conversation at #IANRontheroad. By using that link, you can also ready the social media conversation from past tours.
