Temperature
Temperatures were above normal in almost every state. The highest temperatures were 8°F to 10°F above normal in scattered parts of western Kansas, scattered areas in central and northwestern Colorado, across central Nebraska, scattered areas in central and southwestern Wyoming, and southcentral South Dakota. The lowest temperatures were 0°F to 2°F below normal in northcentral North Dakota.
Temperatures in southcentral and northcentral Colorado, southwestern Wyoming, northcentral Nebraska and southern South Dakota reached 12°F to 15°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 66°F in Wichita, Kansas, which is 5°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were 0°F to 3°F below normal in northcentral South Dakota and northcentral North Dakota.
Temperatures in northeastern Colorado reached 3°F to 6°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 18°F at Alamosa, Colorado, which is 2°F above normal for the area. The highest temperatures were 9°F to 12°F above normal in a small area in southcentral Wyoming

Precipitation
Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in all of Kansas, the majority of Colorado, central and southern Nebraska, across central and southeastern Wyoming, northern South Dakota, and eastern and southwestern North Dakota, to 300 percent of normal in central South Dakota. Pahaska, Wyoming received 0.87 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 5th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 37 percent to 39 percent. In the region, Wyoming experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 3 percent, and Colorado experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 6 percent.
