AI & Filmmaking Hackathon

Saturday, March 30, 2024

9 AM - 7 PM

Location: Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.

Cinema 16, the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts, and the UNL Grand Challenges Media and Information Literacy in the Age of Algorithms team are excited to co-host a one-day intensive AI filmmaking hackathon. Creatives will offer up speculative visions of the future of truth, fiction, and generative media in the age of AI. The day will culminate with a dinner, guest speakers, and a film screening with awards.

No experience is necessary! Everyone is welcome to spend the day creating a short film using Al technologies: undergraduates, graduates, staff, and faculty across the university campus, from Emerging Media Arts to Computer Science, to English and Agriculture—including the greater Lincoln community.

We will host several workshops leading up to the main event focused on sharing tools and techniques.
