Tiny Plastics, Big Impact: Protecting Health from Micro- and Nanoplastics in Everyday Food Containers

nano_logo

Our project tackles the critical issue of micro- and nanoplastics leaching from common food and beverage containers, a hidden threat that may carry serious health risks, especially for infants and vulnerable populations. Through cutting-edge research, public advocacy, and strategic partnerships, the Nebraska Nanoplastics team is working to uncover these invisible dangers and create safer, more sustainable packaging. Together with partners across academia, industry, and local communities, we're driving progress in food safety, expanding access to safer materials, and increasing public understanding of environmental health risks.
