Dionne Searcey has worked as a reporter for The New York Times since 2014. In 2020, she won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for international reporting as part of a team that documented Russia's shadow wars across the world. She is author of the book, "In Pursuit of Disobedient Women" and formerly worked as the West and Central Africa bureau chief for The Times. Searcey spent nine years at The Wall Street Journal and prior to that worked at Newsday, The Seattle Times, The Chicago Tribune and the City News Bureau of Chicago. She was raised in Wymore, Nebraska, and is a 1993 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with majors in journalism and French.
