Mary Schieke is an experienced educator specializing in business communication and administrative procedures. She has been an instructor at Southeast Community College since 2003, where she teaches courses such as Business Communication, Business Communication Strategies, Administrative Procedures 1 and 2 and Workplace Dynamics. Her teaching approach incorporates engaged learning pedagogy and formative assessment, using tools like Kahoot and Quizlet to tailor content to students' needs.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mary actively participates in various college committees, including the Academic Integrity Team, CEO Advisory Team and Professional Development Team. She also facilitates professional development seminars for SCC faculty and staff and advises program students throughout their academic journey and job search.

Mary has been a lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 2010, where she teaches Technical Communication courses in face-to-face, hybrid and online modes. She collaborates with the instructional team to update course curricula and develops seminars on business writing for area company employees.

Mary holds a Graduate Certificate in Composition Studies from Indiana University-East, an MBA from Colorado Technical University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Huron University. Her technical skills include advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with multiple learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard and Angel and frequent use of Zoom for student meetings and instruction.
