Pages to Paths honors the legacy of research libraries and embraces the vital work of those who guide us toward new ways of learning, collaborating, and innovating.

Fall 2025

80 Years

Love Library opened to students

Ground breaking for Love Library took place in the spring of 1941. The basic building was completed in 1943 and was used initially as living space for cadets in the Army Specialized Training program. In the fall of 1945 the library was at last opened to students.

Fall 2025

50 years

Love North opened

By the 1960s, the collections within Love Library had outgrown the building. In 1975 an addition to the north side of the building opened to students, forever altering the distinctive entry area, as well as the Quadrangle.

20 Years

Center for Digital Research in the Humanities (CDRH) was established 

The CDRH is a joint initiative between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries and the College of Arts & Sciences, officially established by the University Board of Regents in 2005.

January 2026

10 Years

Adele Hall Learning Commons opened

The first floor of Love North re-opened after renovations in January 2016 and was renamed the Adele Coryell Hall Learning Commons in honor of Adele Hall, a Lincoln native, and devoted Husker, who graduated from UNL in 1953.

5 Years

Dinsdale Family Learning Commons Opened

The C.Y. Thompson Library re-opened as the Dinsdale Family Learning Commons to University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s students, faculty and staff on Jan. 27, 2021. The privately funded renovation upgraded the East Campus landmark into a technology-rich collaborative environment and hub for innovation, research and learning.
