The first CytoSim Workshop and Hackthon in North America, which will take place on the week of May 12-16, 2025. In this page you will find information about the workshop content and logistics.

CytoSim is an open-source cytoskeleton simulation suite designed to handle large systems of flexible filaments with associated proteins such as molecular motors. It is a versatile base that has been used to study actin and microtubule systems in 1D, 2D and 3D.

This workshop will consist of 3.5 days of lectures, where participants will learn and become proficient in all features available in CytoSim, followed by a 1.5 days of hackathon sessions, where participants can work alone or in groups on a project of their choice with the assistance of the instructors.

The target audience is any person interested in learning how to use CytoSim for their research, be them undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs or faculty.

There are no registration fees, but participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging during the duration of the workshop.
