February 2021 - Club Leader/Volunteer Resources - Resources are available for club leaders and potential leaders to help with the re-organization of their club. Nebraska 4-H and 4-H National Headquarters define a 4-H Club as: an organized group of at least five youth from three different families who meet regularly with adult volunteers or staff for a long-term, progressive series of educational experiences and have enrolled in 4-H Online. Volunteer Screening - All 4-H club organizational and project leaders, volunteers and staff who work directly with youth are required to complete the Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Screening Process. Volunteer Screening is done in order to assure a safe, positive and nurturing environment for all youth involved with the Nebraska 4-H programs and provide protection for the child, the volunteer, the educator, the 4-H Council, the Extension Board, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension.
Knox County volunteers must be screened in 2020, even if you were screened prior to January 1, 2020. You must rescreen prior to your service to the club. We are recommending you complete the screening process as soon as possible before you plan your club re-organizational meeting or before April 15, whichever comes first. Our program does not allow us to accept you as a leader until you complete the volunteer screening process. Click here for more details on the process.

- Clubs of Excellence - The overall goal of 4-H Clubs is to develop enthusiastic young people who boldly take action to demonstrate life skills as capable, caring, competent kids of character thus contributing to the improvement of themselves, their family, their club, their community, and their world. One way clubs might choose to measure their success in meeting that goal is their ability to gain status as a Nebraska 4-H Club of Excellence. To receive the designation as a Nebraska 4-H Club of Excellence, clubs must meet a certain set of criteria and document how this criterion was met. Clubs meeting the requirements will initially receive a certificate. In subsequent years clubs successfully meeting the requirements will receive a special insignia to place on their certificate. Clubs must apply annually to receive this recognition.
