About
This 2023 Grand Challenges Catalyst Planning Grant project is a pioneering initiative aimed at improving healthcare access for underserved populations. Led by a multidisciplinary team from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), the project seeks to empower these communities through education and training opportunities, while also exploring innovative technological solutions to address health disparities. With a focus initially on Nebraska, the ambition is to extend successful strategies nationally and globally. Running from September 2023 to August 2025, this initiative combines expertise from health, engineering and the arts and humanities from UNL, in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Public Health. Through symposia, community engagement and collaborative planning, the project lays the groundwork for future initiatives to tackle one of UNL’s Grand Challenges: health equity.
